Open Embassy

Legal & asylum National·Reviewed 2026-05-14

What you'll do

You join a team of trained volunteers who respond to written legal questions submitted through Open Embassy's platform by asylum seekers and people in procedure. Questions cover everything from appeal deadlines to housing entitlements. You review answers drafted by the team or write your own, with supervision from legal staff on complex cases.

What it takes

  • Background in law, legal studies, or asylum procedure (or willingness to complete the training)
  • Able to write clearly in English or Dutch under time pressure
  • Self-directed — you pick up questions when your schedule allows, no fixed shift required
